2) To  prevent and control the spread of infectious disease there are 3  interventions directed at various links in the chain of infection. 1.  Eliminate or contain the reservoirs of infectious agents; 2. Interrupt  the transmission of infectious agent; and 3) Protect the host against  the infection and disease.
