I'm working on a film writing question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

1. Watch Apt Pupil. Write a personal reaction essay or bullet-point comments about both the film and how it relates to the story on which it is based. This part should be approximately 250 words

2. Apt Pupil was the film Bryan Singer directed immediately after having made The Usual Suspects, which was a critical and financial success. Later he would go on to direct films in the Star Trek and X-Men series, as well as the acclaimed Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, although he was fired as director of the latter just before filming was completed.

The film is dark, but perhaps not as dark as its source material. What do you think? 200 words
