This module's part of the case study assignment fulfills:

• Module Outcome 2: You will have defined cognitive, social-emotional, and low-incidence exceptionalities and their characteristics.
• Student Learning Outcome 1: You will have differentiated instructional needs of children (i.e. adapt environment, curricula, etc.) with exceptionalities and diverse abilities using formative assessment (NAEYC 1a, 1b).

In this module, you will submit the research on a selected disability. You are to demonstrate a working knowledge on the disability. You are to research the diagnosis and write a 2-3-page paper that includes and expands on the following elements:

1. Definition of disability
2. Characteristics of disability
3. Causes of disability
4. How the disability is diagnosed
5. Interventions/treatments/common adaptations for the disability
6. Other pertinent information (defined as other information important to this disability but not included in the above sections)

Your paper should be a minimum of 2-3 pages in paragraph form, using the above listed elements as section headings. You are to derive the information for your paper from at least three different academic sources. Sources must be cited correctly, using APA formatting within the body of the paper, as well as in a reference list at the end. These sources must be a combination of books, internet sites, and professional journal articles. You should use no more than two internet sites.

• Put your name, course and section number, and assignment title at the top of the document.
• Use one-inch margins.
• Use a 12-point Times New Roman font.
• Use double line spacing in the document.
• Use APA documentation style to cite sources used within the written response and to create a bibliography, reference, or works cited list.
