*Note 1: PowerPoint Slide Standards (20 points)
- Be creative in how you share information. Pictures and graphics often say more than words. Do not just present bullet points or paragraphs and bore the audience with just words!
- Use the slide master feature to create a consistent and simple design template. You are encouraged to vary the content but be consistent with other elements such as font, colors, and background. Use contrasting colors for text and background
- Limit punctuation and avoid putting words in all capital letters. Empty space on the slide will enhance readability.
- Avoid the use of flashy transitions such as text fly-ins. These features are distracting.
- Do not overuse special effects such as animation and sounds.
- Use good quality images that reinforce and complement your message.
**Note 2: Oral Presentation Standards (40 points)
- Time your presentation. You will be allotted 5 minutes maximum, so do not create a 15-minute presentation.
- See Content on next page for a guide on how to use your 5-minute time allotment efficiently.
- Speak comfortably and clearly. Do not rush through it to “get it over”.
- Check the spelling and grammar. Incorrect spelling or grammar reflects poorly on the presenter. Use spell check and carefully proof your presentation.
Do not read the presentation. Practice the presentation so you can speak naturally and comfortably from bullet points or images. The text should only be a cue for the presenter.
***Note 3: Career Presentation Content (3 slides minimum) (5 minute maximum) (40 points)
You are to create a PowerPoint presentation as outlined in the following slide descriptions. The information to be included in each slide is not overly detailed to allow you the opportunity to personalize and customize your presentation. Let your own interests and creativity drive the content of your presentation, so feel free to include information you determine is pertinent.
Slide 1: Introduce Yourself (1 minute)
