write a description, develop a paragraph in which you describe an item, place, or experience. You may find it helpful to refer to the writing assignments on pp. 199-204 and explore the writing process as explained in our text.
Be sure to choose a topic that can be developed in a single paragraph but that doesn’t require more than a paragraph to fully explore. (Some ideas might be to describe the contents of your wallet or purse, your study area, someone’s facial features, a work of art, a building, a bridge, a typical trip on the subway, a break-up, a concert, etc.)
Include specific detail about the characteristics of what you’re describing and be sure to include rich and appropriate sensory details. Be sure that the paragraph you post to the discussion board has a clear topic sentence, support, paragraph unity, and coherence. Before posting your work, review these instructions to be sure that your paragraph stays on task with the writing prompt given here and the standards of descriptions that are presented in Chapter 7.
