This project will require you to compare and contrast how Durkheim, Marx, and Goffman would analyze and interpret a short (up to 30 minutes) video/DVD of your choice. 

Project 1 Directions

Identify a video/DVD. If this video isn't easy enough you can look for one on your own. 

Provide a short summary of the video/DVD (What is the video about? Clarity is important!)

One at a time, explain how Durkheim, Marx, and Goffman would use their own theories to analyze and interpret your video/DVD. Thoroughly explain using the sociological concepts/terms that were important to each of these theorists. (Write as much as possible.)

• Next, explain which one of the three paradigms (functionalist, conflict, or symbolic interactionist) is the best fit for analyzing your video/DVD? Explain your reasoning.
