I'm working on a communications writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Many scholars we have studied, ask "what happens when a new communications technology is introduced into our lives?". Chris Underation, Marshall McLuhan and Manuel Castells have been prinarily concerned with orality, literate culture, and the digital world. And while all three scholars have some similarities they are also different. Manuel Castells goes as far as to argue that the Network Society is NOT the Global Village. In an essay compare and contrast Secondary Orality, The Global Village, and the Network Society.
