Impact of Doulas on Healthy Birthing Outcomes
Healthy birthing outcomes have been a huge ordeal all around the world because healthy birth are starting to decrease due to lack of training and specialization in labor. “With the support of doulas, many women are able to forego epidurals, avoid cesarean births, and have less stressful births.” “The positive effects of doula care have been found to be greater for women who were socially disadvantaged, low income, unmarried, primiparous, giving birth in a hospital without a companion, or had experienced language/cultural barriers.”
Each student will individually submit a paper that is 6-8 pages in length (excluding
references), double spaced, 12-point font with 1-inch margins left, right, top and bottom. As outlined in
Appendix A, the paper should be supported by research published in 5 strong articles from peer-
reviewed sources. Your critical review will include evaluating policy and practice implications of the
issue, including opportunities to advocate for political, social or economic policies and programs that will
improve health in diverse populations, evaluating policies for their
impact on public health and health equity, and applying systems
thinking tools to your public health issue.
