This reading details a list of commonly used cognitive distortions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy teaches the individual to identify these distortions and then find alternative ways to reframe unhealthy thinking patterns.
Part 2: Reflect
For this part of the assignment, you will use your critical thinking skills and reflect upon the reading.
In a minimum of two-pages (not counting the title page and reference page) address the following:
- What limitations exist with the approach Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)?
- Does Cognitive Behavior Therapy make sense?
- Are there specific client populations for which CBT might be best suited?
- Are there any of the listed cognitive distortions that you commonly use?
